Estonia v Ireland

posted by Sports Travel - 15 November 2011

We started our travels in Dublin airport last Wed with the team, officials, media and fans.

We travelled on British Midland for the 3 hours to Tallinn airport just on the outskirts of the city. From there it was only a short bus journey to our various hotels.

The main Irish hang out spot in Tallinn was Molly Malones in the main square, which had a good crowd on Wed night and was heaving on Thursday, all day!

On Friday morning and afternoon the tension was palpable and there were very few fingernails left by the time of kick off.

The game of course will live long in the memory of the huge Irish crowd that attended and will go down as our biggest win of the Trappatoni era in his most important game to date.

The flight home that night was memorable as the songs and stories of past campaigns were discussed and sang for the 3 hours of our flight.

We arrived into Dublin at 3.30 on Sat morning with a few fans tired and emotional!!

I think everyone that was there will agree that it went down as one of the more memorable trips in recent years and we will have a great summer to look forward to in Poland & Ukraine.
