Flights to Perth

Perth is Australia’s hidden gem. The capital of Western Australia and the country’s fourth biggest metropolis is still a beach city at heart, with a chilled out vibe and spectacular natural surroundings that Irish visitors love.

Sometimes it’s visiting relatives that brings the Irish visitors to Perth, but increasingly the incredible landscapes and attractions of Western Australia draw adventure-seekers all on their own. We’ve been arranging such Aussie adventures for over 37 years. Call on 01 8047188.

DUBLIN TO PERTH STOPOVERS

If you’re planning to fly to the other side of the world, don’t miss the opportunity to squeeze in a United Arab Emirates or South-East Asian adventure along the way.

We can organise stopovers in many destinations, including Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. KL, Malaysia’s capital city, entices visitors with its renowned Asian fusion cuisine, from market stalls to award-winning restaurants in teetering skyscrapers. It’s the shopping, naturally, that has so many visitors stopping in Dubai as well as the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. Read our complete list of stopovers to Australia.

INTERNAL FLIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA

Australia, as you may have gathered, is a big place. If you just have a few weeks, internal flights are the easiest way to see the best of the continent.

A flight to Sydney from Perth will allow you to experience both flavours of coastal city living in Australia, as well as a trip to the Blue Mountains. It’s also worth going inland to see the spectacular Uluru / Ayers Rock.

THINGS TO DO AROUND PERTH

Perth is a relaxing and sunny city, home to some of the nicest parks in the world, a vibrant restaurant scene (especially great for fans of seafood) and majestic architecture and fascinating history.

Perth highlights include:

1. THE PINK LAKES

Nobody quite knows why some of the local lakes are coloured pink in Perth, but everyone agrees that they’re as breathtaking as they are surprising. We especially recommend Esperance, which is host to bird sanctuaries, horse riding, walking and cycling, fishing, scuba diving, whale-watching (May to October), windsurfing, abseiling, kayaking and 4WD drive tours. Its local museum has exploration and shipwreck pieces, as well as segments of the US Sky Lab, which fell to ground in the town in the 1980s.

2. INDIAN OCEAN DRIVE

On the Indian Ocean Drive, there are many quaint, charming seaside towns with the best seafood you’ll ever eat. There are incredible views of the Indian Ocean and countless white sandy beaches to await you on your journey. Swim with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef, meet the dolphins at Monkey Mia, and see the rays, sharks and turtles (and more) at the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. The Indian Ocean Drive also has some of the world’s most beautiful national parks.

3. FREMANTLE

This laid-back port town is the perfect place to unwind with a seafood dinner while you watch the sun set over the sea, or maybe with a pint of local Australian lager in one of its famous colonial pubs. Fremantle is a historically rich town, and you’ll love walking down its old streets and checking out its protected heritage buildings. It’s also a cultural centre, with more than its share of buskers, theatres, galleries and museums.

4. ROTTNEST ISLAND

Rottnest Island has been popular with tourists since the early 1900s, thanks to its stunning beaches, scenic bays and lovely local wildlife. The island (a short ferry ride from Perth) is a national park in itself, and you’ll find local quokkas (like little kangaroos), abundant marine wildlife, and stunning countryside. Take a boat tour and you might see one of its many local seals, ospreys, turtles, dolphins and whales. History buffs will love the shipwrecks and historical scuba sites.
