Bus
The Perama bus company serves the budget traveller and not just in Bali, they have offices in several major tourist destinations on the island. There are also other cheap & reliable services that cover all the major tourist destinations on the island. It is advised to check local adverts and make sure you book one day in advance.
Taxi
Metered taxis are very common in southern Bali and north in Denpasar but not very common anywhere else on the island. The largest taxi company is called Bali taksi/blue bird. If your planning a day-trip, it is usually cheaper and more convenient to arrange for your taxi to wait and take you back.
Self-Drive Car or Motorbike
They drive on the left hand side in Bali. There are many car and motorbike rental companies available but due to the lack of traffic rules you may think about hiring a car & driver, that way you can sit back & relax.
Renting motorcycles or scooters can be a frightening but fascinating experience. Be advised that this is no place to learn how to ride a motorbike. If you do rent a bike make sure you use the helmet that is provided. Make sure you also have an International Driving Permit.
