Catalan Coast

Calella

Calella stretches for 3km along the golden beaches of the Mediterranean, lined with terraces and restaurants serving the best of Catalan cuisine. The old part of town, around the church of Santa María, is a maze of pedestrian
streets waiting to be explored. The promenade on Calella’s waterfront leads you to the lighthouse, which has become an emblem of the town. There are regular trains along the coast and to Barcelona.

Santa Susanna

Situated between Malgrat de Mar and Pineda de Mar, this quiet village offers 2km of broad beaches, with golden sand, surrounded by pine groves.Santa Susanna is one of the Maresme villages with the most surviving ancient watchtowers. They were built from the 15th to 18th centuries to defend against pirate attacks and, of the seven still
in existence, one is home to the train station (for trains along the coast and to Barcelona).
