The Castle of Santa Barbara sits above the city of Alicante and is a must see. There are some lovely sandy beaches the most popular of which is the Postiguet beach. The promenade is filled with palm trees and is probably one of the best in of Spain.
El Palmeral Park is packed with walking paths and playgrounds for kids with picnic areas. Another tourist attraction is the island of Tabarca and well worth a day visit. There are catherdals, defence towers and art museums. The nightlife in Alicante caters for all tastes with bars, nightclubs, trendy cafes and restaurants.
The climate is Alicante is a Mediterranean climate, which makes it a great place to visit all year round with mild temperatures and very little rain.
