Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands came to the world’s attention following Charles Darwin’s visit in 1835. Here he discovered a living laboratory of exotic animal and plant life, much of it unique to the islands because of their isolation from other landmasses.
This wildlife paradise offers unique and unforgettable encounters with many strange and exotic species that show no fear of humans. Walk alongside the giant Galápagos tortoises and swim with sea lions or snorkel with whale sharks.
The islands are open year-round and there are two main seasons: warm and wet from Jan to Jun, dry and cool from Jul to Dec. The animals are more active between June, July and August.
The only way to reach the Galapagos Islands is by plane from Guayaquil or Quito in Ecuador.
