There is so much to see & do in Istanbul, visit some of the thousand Grand Bazaars where you can buy just about anything, enjoy the world famous Turkish kebab or a Turkish bath.
Take a trip to Topkapi Palace where you can see swords, royal clothes, carpets, jewels etc or a boat trip along the Bosphorus where you can get a great view of the many mosques and palaces. You can also take a day trip to ancient sites such as Ephesus and Troy.
The climate is Mediterranean where the summers are hot (July and August can be very humid) while the winters are cooler and wet.
