The Kimberley is one of the nine regions of Western Australia. It has a tropical monsoon climate and receives about 90% of its rainfall during the wet season, which lasts from November to April. Cyclones can be common particularly around Broome and the rivers can flood. The Kimberley region is also the hottest part in Australia.
The Horizontal Falls are a natural phenomenon in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Some of the more popular things to do in the The Kimberley include exploring the Bungle Bungle Range, taking a boat trip along the Ord River to witness amazing bird life such as the billed cuckoo, going horseriding, cattle mustering, bushwalking, boating, fishing , four wheel driving and almost anything else you can think of at El Questro Wilderness Park.
Sydney & Whitsundays
I had 3 weeks hoilday, and wanted to see my brother and family in Australia. My brother lives in Bondi, so thought it best to stay in this area.
I stayed at the Swiss Grand Bondi hotel on Bondi Beach which was fabulous. Lovely spacious rooms with small separate room off bedroom and great rooftop swimming pool and spa. Bondi beach has great beach/walks/restaurants/bars/shops and is only 20mins from city centre, so we had best of both words. Were able to go to city centre to do harbour cruise, city tour and wander around the city & harbour area taking it all in.
After Sydney we flew to Hamilton Island and spent a few days at the Reef View Hotel. Hamilton is great with loads to do, nice restaurants, good sailing trips. Highlight was sailing trip to Whitehaven beach, stunning.
