Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu’s complex comprises an agricultural area with terraces and aqueducts, and a city with temples, observatories, workshops and sacred burial plots. Located some 120km from Cusco, Machu Picchu rises to an altitude of 2,400m above sea level between Huyana Picchu (young peak) and Machu Picchu (old peak).
It is one of the most important archaeological sites in South America, one of the most visited tourist attractions in all of Latin America and is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.
