Malaga

Malaga’s most recent innovation is an art museum dedicated to the works of Pablo Picasso, who was born in Malaga. For a fascinating glimpse at local history, visit the Museo de Meson de la Victoria de Artes y Tradiciones Populares, while Malaga’s cathedral and adjoining museum contain fine examples of religious art.

The pedestrianised Calle de Granada, with its neighbouring maze of alleys and streets, is a good place to experience Malaga life alongside the locals. Visit one of the many ‘bodegas’ where many wines of the region can be sampled along with a few tapas to kep you going til dinner time.

Malaga’s colourful food market can be found at the Moorish Puerta de Atarazanas, where stalls heave with an impressive array of fresh Andalucian produce and seafood. Malaga’s climate is hot in the summer while cooler in the winter, making it a great place to visit all year round.
