Kenya Safari Holiday

Incredible wildlife, fascinating cultures and sunsets that I will never forget, I will cherish my Kenya safari holiday for life.I visited Mombosa, Nairobi and Tsavo National Park during my visit. If you've never been on a safari holiday, add it to your bucket list today.

I stayed in several Serena Resorts during my stay. First up was the Serena Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa. I spent 3 nights lounging be the freeform pool, which had a swim up bar! The resort boasts many recreational facilities too such as, kite and wind surfing, beach volleyball and eco trails.

Next stop was the Serena Kilaguni Safari Lodge, where I spent 2 days. The blend of adventure and modern comfort in this resort was amazing! Every now and then you could even spot some wildlife at the watering hole. I will never forget the daily game drives, they were magical.

Last but certainly not least was the Serena Hotel Nairobi. This hotel is a haven among the hustle and bustle of one of Kenya’s most cosmopolitan cities. I could have lay by the pool all day!

What I Loved

The staff at Serena Kilaguni arranged for our group to have a sunrise breakfast, I can’t recommend this enough. It is a very affordable addition to your safari holiday and perfect for honeymooners. With the view of Kilimanjaro in the background, it’s the perfect romantic setting.

Things to do in Kenya

Activities and Places to See

The Mombasa city tour is fascinating! It includes all the below:

  • Visit Fort Jesus, a fort located on Mombasa island that was built between 1593 and 1596.

  • Pick up the perfect souvenir from the Akamba Wood Carving Factory, you can even watch how they make them.
  • Admire the magnificent elephant tusk monument

Of course, I loved the game drives. It is hard to put into words how amazing it is to see these beautiful animals in the wild.

Food & Bars

I had all my meals in the Serena hotels and enjoyed each one. The Indian Ocean Seafood Speciality in the Serena Nairobi hotel was one of my favourites.

Serena Beach Resort and Spa boasts one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on the Indian Ocean. It's the perfect place to relax or get your adrenaline pumping as there are also great kite and wind surfing opportunities.

A Safari holiday has always been on my bucket list! However, I might have to tick it off a few times as I want to book another already. My top tips would be to pack plenty of sun cream and bug spray, you don’t want sunburn or pesky insects spoiling this amazing experience. The blend of culture, wildlife, adrenaline and tranquillity you get from a safari holiday is like no other. Talk to an Abbey Travel expert today and start planning your trip of a lifetime.
