Winter Holidays to Tenerife: Why We Love ‘Em

Isabel Family Hotel Pool

As we have said in a previous blog post, Tenerife is one of our favourite destinations for sun holidays.
Tenerife is one of the seven Canary Islands, and we cannot think of a better place to go for winter sun than off the west coast of Africa. Tenerife is the place for luxury and ultimate relaxation. Resorts such as the Costa Adeje are oozing with plush hotels, modern attractions, incredible landscape and idyllic beaches. It is the ideal winter holiday location for both couples and friends.

Isabel Family HotelSo what is so great about Tenerife?

Even during the winter and spring months, Tenerife has lots going on - warm weather, beaches, bars and restaurants, and lots of activities.

The Weather

Tenerife is situated on the same latitude as the Sahara Desert, and enjoys a moderate climate – so much so that it is known as the “Island of Eternal Spring”.  If you’re in Tenerife in November you can expect temperatures of about 18-22 degrees – pleasantly balmy, we think you’ll agree!

The Beaches

With nice weather comes the desire to hit the beach. There are tonnes of beaches in Tenerife. Fanabe Beach is one of our favourites. Located in the Costa Adeje itself, it is just 600m from one of the resorts nicest hotels, the Isabel Family Hotel. San Blas beach is another great beach, and is situated close to The Aparthotel Cordial Golf Plaza.

Veronica's Strip TenerifeThe Bars and Restaurants

Fine dining is something you can definitely expect in Tenerife. There are plenty of restaurants in Costa Adeje itself, but if you are looking for something a little livelier, Playa de las Americas is the place to be. It is a place that seems to be eternally bursting with Irish people, especially along Veronica’s Strip which we have previously compared to Dublin’s Temple Bar! However, no matter where you eat, you are certain to be blown away with the variety of expertly cooked seafood dishes.

The things to do

There is so much to do in Tenerife, and you can decide just how active you want to be. Whether you are a golfing fanatic, a biker or a hiker, a horse rider, or a water lover, you won’t be bored! Even if you just want to take in the sights, Tenerife has it covered.
The island is home to Mount Teide, the world’s third highest volcano, which is surrounded by the Teide National Park. The park is one of the most visited national parks in the wold, and was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2007.

So if you are looking for a winter holiday in the sun…
