Nollaig's Trip to Lanzarote

Myself, my husband and our two kids recently went on a family holiday to Lanzarote. While we were there, we stayed in the 4 star Occidental Mar in Costa Teguise and we loved it! The hotel was all inclusive and we really made the most of it! The weather in was between 23-25 degrees every day so it was not too hot and was ideal with the kids.
Location
Costa Teguise is only about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Our hotel was just outside of the town, roughly 5 minutes in a taxi which never cost any more than €4.00 for all of us to get into town.

What I Loved
We went on the Submarine Safari which was a great day out and the kids loved it! The trip on the submarine was 45 minutes and then we had 45 minutes to wander around the port. It was something different and we got to see loads of different sea life and shipwrecks.

Activities & Places to See
- We went on a bus tour to Timanfaya Volcano during our stay, which was great! We were collected at our hotel and then went on to the volcano.
- We visited a vineyard on the way back from the volcano which was really nice.
- Go on the Submarine Safari for a great day trip.
- Enjoy the warm weather by sunbathing on the beach.

Shopping
Costa Teguise has several shopping centres and plenty of shops for picking up perfumes, clothes and electronics. Everything there was very reasonably priced.

Food & Bars
As our package was all inclusive, we ate in the hotel most days. There was always a very wide variety of hot and cold options to choose from in the buffet-style restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From 1-5pm every day there was also a small buffet by the pool which was very handy for the kids. As we had the kids with us, we didn’t get to experience any of the nightlife in the town, but our boys loved the kids disco that was on every night in the hotel from 8:30 – 9:00pm.

Beaches
Any time we went to the beach we generally headed to Playa Del Reducto which is a beautiful sandy beach in the town. It only took about 15 minutes to drive there from the hotel, and it was perfect for the whole family.
