Alvor is a beautiful village located along the Algarve on the south coast of Portugal. It is 73km from Faro airport and is one of the many popular resorts in this region. Alvor is blessed with superb sandy beaches and is a picturesque old fishing town which enjoys a fabulous sunny summer climate and lovely mild winters.

Alvor is a delightful town with old, white-washed houses and narrow-cobbled streets. It has a large selection of excellent restaurants, shops and late-night bars all of which can be found within the pretty historic centre. Alvor is on the Atlantic Ocean and there are many other towns nearby such as the larger resort of Praia da Rocha and the old city of Portimao. It is a very relaxing village and with its many boat tours, golf courses and waterparks nearby it is very popular with all ages and groups. Alvor has a fabulous charm and is a great base to explore the stunning coastline. Car hire is recommended and is great value. The main beach is outstanding, here you can stroll on the raised footpaths and relax in one of the quaint beach bars.

Alvor is a great destination for a relaxing sun holiday that also offers lively nightlife. It is perfect for couples and families. Eating out is excellent value and the food is delicious. Take an evening stroll around the old town or sit and watch the world go by with a cold drink.
