Welcome to Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site

Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site The Knife River area was inhabited by Native Americans for over 11,000 years and today the remains of three Hidatsa villages illustrate that legacy. The Native American girl of Lewis and Clarke lore, Sakakawea, was said to have lived here. A museum and visitors centre are also features of this attraction.
