Discover Hersonissos

Hersonissos is a very popular holiday resort located on the northern coast of the Greek island of Crete. It is 27km from both the airport and the island capital of Heraklion. Hersonissos is a historic old town previously under Roman rule and ancient ruins can be found locally. It is now a bustling vibrant sunshine resort which enjoys a fantastic warm sunny climate in summer and very mild winters.

Hersonissos has a lovely beach and its harbour area is filled with excellent dining options and bars. This is a busy resort in the summer season and day trips can be taken to nearby islands, coves and pebble beaches. Hersonissos is famous for its nightlife and is a real party town. There are several nightclubs in the resort, some of which feature world renowned DJ’s. There are many shops along the seafront offering clothes, leather, shoes and jewellery at fantastic prices. There are other large resorts such as Stalis and Malia located within 12km. Car hire is great value and is highly recommended if you wish to explore the island.

Hersonissos has a couple of waterparks and is family suitable but this resort is perfect for the young and single along with couples looking for lively nightlife. The town is full of energy but still retains its wonderful Greek charm thanks to the extremely friendly locals.
