Alicante is a charming port city on the Costa Blanca in southeast Spain with a bustling harbour and a lovely promenade. The city is nestled at the foot of the medieval Castle of Santa Barbara and its old town, Barrio del la Santa Cruz, is a warren of narrow streets and colourful houses.

Alicante has an average of 330 days of sunshine each year. Because of this it is one of Spain's most popular destinations for a sun holiday. Along the Costa Blanca there are golden beaches, shopping plazas and scenic parks. Areas that are worth visiting include Esplanada de Espana, the White Houses of the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, “Santa Pola” salt flats and the cliffs of “Cabo de las Huertas” by “San Juan” beach. Alicante has plenty of activities to offer, including golf courses and theme parks, gourmet food and wine tours and city tours by scooter or bicycle! Coastal kayaking and cruising are also popular.
