Alghero is a city and harbour town located on the northwest coast of Sardinia. It is surrounded by ancient Medieval walls dating back to the 16th Century. Alghero’s shoreline is known as the Coral Riviera and stretches along 90km of land. The area experiences a Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters.

Alghero’s old town is charming with narrow streets, cafes, and souvenir shops for visitors to stop at. Some popular tourist attractions include Alghero Cathedral, the Bell Tower, La Piazza Civica, the Coral Museum and the churches of St. Michael and St. Barbara. There are daily boat trips to the Neptune caves, where you can see an inland lake and stalactites and stalagmites. Alternatively, you could take the 654 steps carved into the cliff! Hike and cycle on the trails of the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte, where you will see beautiful scenery. Stunning sandy beaches are within walking distance of Alghero while others can be reached by a 20-30minute drive. The beaches have great facilities and turquoise, crystal-clear water. Visitors can also dine in traditional trattoria and enjoy cocktails along the Spiaggia di San Giovanni beachfront.
