Holidays to Ciutadella

Ciutadella lies on the west coast of Menorca, 45km from Mahon airport. This historic city is easily reached by a regular bus service from Mahon airport and from numerous holiday resorts. Once the capital of Menorca, it is now the centre for commerce and culture. This port city is known for its medieval streets and old quarter.

Known as Vella I Bella which translated means Old and Beautiful, this charming port city with its old quarters offer an abundance of cultural sights. There are several Gothic and Baroque churches in this wonderful city. The Gothic cathedral located in Placa de la Catedral dates back to the 13th century. Head to the Placa Nova for bars and cafes while restaurants also line the nearby quays. From here a ferry will bring you to Alcudia in the neighbouring Island of Majorca. Although Ciutadella doesn’t have its own beach, the small beaches of Cala Santandria and Sa Caleta are only 3km away.

This is a perfect destination for a week's holiday or for a day trip from a neighbouring beach resort. Ciutadella has something to offer for singles, couples and families, from its historic buildings to the charming port lined with restaurants. Families will enjoy a ferry trip to the neighbouring Island of Majorca.

There are a couple of flights each week during the summer months serving Mahon from Dublin. The flight time is just over two and a half hours and we always have great deals on holidays to Menorca.
