Calpe is a small coastal town in the region of Valencia, on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. The town is 77km from the airport in Alicante. Calpe is an attractive resort, centrally located on Spain's Costa Blanca and dominated by the huge Rock of Ifach that rises out of the sea to over 300m. On a clear day you can see all the way to Ibiza from the top.

Calpe has some of the most beautiful sandy beaches along this stretch of the Costa Blanca, lined with restaurants, bars and shops. The old town is set on a hill, up decorated steps and among its cobbled streets you will find examples of Calpe’s Moorish history such as the old town walls and the impressive Iglesia Vieja. There is an arts and crafts market here each Sunday. Back at the seafront there are Roman ruins from Caple’s time as a centre for drying and salting fish. At the modern marina it is possible to take a boat ride around the rock or experience a fish auction and then sample the catch in one of the nearby restaurants.

Calpe’s sandy beaches and calm waters make it suitable for families, while its smaller coves will suit those looking for quieter surroundings. The variety of beaches make it a great destination for those who enjoy water sports including kayaking, sailing, diving, windsurfing and stand-up paddle boarding.
