Itinerary

Day 1 Cape Town

  • Arrive at any time. Meet the group at a welcome meeting with your tour CEO – check the hotel lobby for details. Option to join the group for a local meal afterwards.
  • Optional Activities: Boulders Beach Visit / Table Mountain Cable Car / Two Oceans Aquarium / South African Wine Tour and Tasting / Cape Town Urban Safari / Cape Point & Boulders Beach Tour. NB: If you book any optional activities, please contact us to see if booking a pre-night is necessary.

Day 2 Cape Town - Lambert's Bay

  • Travel from Cape Town along the west coast to Lambert's Bay and enjoy a wine tasting, stopping along the way at the G Adventures supported !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre. Arrive in Lambert's Bay and enjoy an included wine tasting. Stroll around the charming town of Lambert’s Bay or take an optional tour to Bird Island.
  • Optional Activity: Bird Island Visit

Accommodation: Sir Lambert's Guest House (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 3 Lambert's Bay - Orange River

  • Travel north through this remote part of South Africa and cross into Namibia. Arrive at scenic Orange River in late afternoon with time for swim or just relax by the riverbank.

Accommodation: Norotshama River Resort (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 4 Orange River - Fish River Canyon - Keetmanshoop

  • Relax on the banks of the Orange River after breakfast before travelling to the breath-taking Fish River Canyon, the largest canyon in Africa. Then travel north to Giant's Playground, a series of geological formations and a rock maze just outside of Keetmanshoop.

Accommodation: Quiver Inn Guesthouse (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 5 Keetmanshoop - Namib Desert

  • An early start with a visit to the Quiver Tree Forest. The oldest trees in the forest are between 200 and 300 years old and were used by the indigenous San peoples to make quivers for their arrows. Then sit back and enjoy the dramatic Namibian landscapes as you travel north towards Sesriem.

Accommodation: Sossus Oasis Campsite (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 6 Namib Desert

  • Visit Sossusvlei, a clay pan enclosed by the world’s largest sand dunes, up to 300m high. Take some time to enjoy the sand dunes on your own and visit the Sesriem Canyon, a small canyon typical of the area.
  • Optional Activity: Deadvlei Visit - a must for any traveller to Namibia

Accommodation: Sossus Oasis Campsite (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 7 Namib Desert - Swakopmund

  • Take in the views of the Namib desert En route to the Namibian coast and the historical town of Swakopmund. Stop along the way in Solitaire, a village consisting of a filling station, general dealer/coffee shop, and small mechanical workshop.
  • Optional Activity: Living Desert Tour. Hop into a 4x4 vehicle and set out into the desert.

Accommodation: Hotel Deutsches Haus Swakopmund (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 8 Swakopmund – Free day

  • Spend a day exploring Swakopmund or try out some optional activities such as sandboarding, skydiving, or a scenic flight.
  • Optional activities: Sandboarding in the Namib Desert / Swakopmund Skydiving / Swakopmund Guided Cultural Tour / Skeleton Coast Scenic Flight

Accommodation: Hotel Deutsches Haus Swakopmund (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 9 Swakopmund - Etosha National Park

  • Journey inland passing through a lunar landscape and see the imposing Spitzkoppe, also known as the “Matterhorn” of Namibia, in the distance. Afternoon visit to Etosha National Park on a wildlife safari drive in a touring vehicle. Keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, and antelopes.
  • Optional Activity: Etosha Open Vehicle Wildlife Safari Drive

Accommodation: Etosha NP Okaukuejo Restcamp (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 10 Etosha National Park

  • Set off into the wilds of Etosha National Park in the touring vehicle for another wildlife safari drive.
  • Optional Activity: Etosha Open Vehicle Wildlife Safari Drive

Accommodation: Etosha NP Okaukuejo Restcamp (or similar).

Day 11 Etosha National Park - Windhoek

  • Head south to the German-influenced capital city, Windhoek. After lunch in the G Adventures supported Penduka Village Restaurant & Shop spend the rest of the afternoon exploring.

Accommodation: Auas City Hotel (or similar). Meals included: Lunch.

Day 12 End Windhoek

  • Depart at any time.

Meals included: Breakfast.
