Itinerary

Day 1 Start Tallinn; transfer to hotel

  • Check in at the hotel and receive your meeting instructions. Take a stroll around the Old Town if you have time.

Accommodation: Go Hotel Shnelli (or similar)

Day 2 Explore Tallinn; transfer to Lahemaa National Park


  • Free time in the morning to explore Tallinn before your afternoon transfer to Lahemaa National Park. Here you will cycle through woodland, passing marshes and lakes. Ascent: 120m; Descent: 130m; Total: 29km.

Accommodation: Hotel Wesenbergh (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 3 Lahemaa National Park

  • A full day to explore the one of largest national parks in Europe. Starting a circular route from Palmse Hotel (the former park manor house), passing Sagadi Manor, cycling through the villages of Altja, Vosu, and Kasmu. Finish the loop by cycling back to the hotel through Estonian forests and meadows. Ascent: 280m; Descent: 280m; Total: 53km.

Day 4 Transfer to Peipsi and cycle along the lake shore; transfer to Tartu

  • Start with a bus transfer to Peipsi Lake. The cycle route starts in Mustvee, 17th-century fisherman’s village past ancient towns and churches and on to Varnja. Transfer to Tartu. Ascent: 70m; Descent: 70m; Total: 52km.

Day 5 Cycle through Otepaa; transfer to Riga

  • After breakfast transfer to Otepaa, the area known as ‘Estonian Switzerland’ because of its stunning scenery and pine forests. There are some hills on today’s ride, but nothing too challenging. Once over the hills, the rout continues through forest and meadows and past Lake Puhajarve to Sangaste town. Visit the park and castle in Sangaste, before cycling to Valga city, for a bus transfer to Riga. Ascent: 210m; Descent: 320m; Total: 46km.

Day 6 Cycle to Jurmala

  • Start the day in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and follow cycle paths to the beautiful town of Jurmala. Wander around this seaside resort admiring the wooden buildings and 19th-century Russian villas and explore the huge stretch of white sandy beach by bike. Take time out for a swim in the sea before transferring back to Riga for the night. Ascent: 100m; Descent: 110m; Total: 31km.

Day 7 Transfer to Sventoji and cycle to Klaipeda

  • After breakfast, there is a transfer to Sventoji in Lithuania. From here there is a beautiful cycle route to Klaipeda, along the Baltic Coast. Stop for a swim along the way in Palanga, a traditional seaside town with a long sandy beach. There is also time to visit the Palanga Botanical Gardens and manor house, home to the amber museum. Enjoy lunch in a local cafe before setting off for Klaipeda, your base for two nights. Ascent: 130m; Descent: 130m; Total: 43km.

Day 8 Curonian Spit National Park

  • Transfer to the resort town of Nida to explore the 68km long Curonian Spit, known locally as the Lithuanian Sahara due to the high dunes that run along its length. There will be a stop in Juodkrante to view the wooden carvings representing characters from Lithuanian folklore in the sculpture park known as Witch Hill. Enjoy the views of the Baltic Sea on the ride back to the ferry port, where you take the ferry across the lagoon for the transfer back to Klaipeda. Ascent: 190m; Descent: 220m; Total: 61km

Day 9 Explore Kaunas and Pažaislis; transfer to Vilnius

  • After breakfast there is a bus transfer to Zapyskis, in the Kaunas district. Cycle along the Nemunas, the largest river in Lithuania, past beaches and ancient villages. Stop to visit Kaunas city, European Capital of Culture in 2022. Finish the ride at Pažaislis Monastery, with its 17th-century baroque church. Transfer to Vilnius by bus. Ascent: 200m; Descent: 160m; Total: 39km.

Day 10 Semeliskes to Trakai

  • Transfer by bus to the village of Semeliskes for a picturesque ride through undulating countryside to Galve Lake. Here you’ll find Trakai Castle, surrounded by water on all sides it’s a stunning sight to behold. Take time to visit the castle and explore the area before transferring back to Vilnius. Ascent: 80m; Descent: 90m; Total: 18km.

Day 11 End Vilnius

  • A free morning in Vilnius before the trip ends
