Enjoy a welcome barbecue (braai) in Johannesburg before embarking on your Kruger adventure. Get up close with elephants, lions, and giraffes on the savanna, as well as chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Institute’s Chimp Eden. Includes 7 nights hotel, tented and lodge and accommodation with breakfast, 2 lunches and 6 dinners.

Itinerary

Day 1 Johannesburg

  • Arrive at any time. Enjoy an included Braai to get our first taste of South African fare and meet up with the group.
  • Optional Activities: Apartheid Museum, Johannesburg 1h-2h/ Soweto Bicycle Tour, Soweto – Johannesburg1h-2h

Accommodation: Airport Game Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Dinner 

Day 2 Johannesburg - Greater Kruger Area

  • Early breakfast and depart Johannesburg for the long drive to Kruger. Take in the scenery from the private vehicle and stop for lunch on the way. Arrive late afternoon with time to freshen up for dinner.

Accommodation: Awelani Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3 Greater Kruger Area

  • After an early breakfast take the chance to stretch your legs and truly immerse yourself into your surroundings on a bushwalk with an expert guide. Enjoy a picnic lunch after the walk and an afternoon rest back at camp. • Late afternoon is time for a Safari drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Get ready to spot elephants, buffalo, antelope, hyena, and more roaming in the area.

Accommodation: Awelani Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4 Kruger National Park Area

  • Full-day safari drive in Kruger National Park in search of the Big Five. Late afternoon arrival at your lodge in time for some local fare at dinner.

Accommodation: Umbhaba Eco Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 5 Kruger National Park Area

  • Another full day in Kruger, this time in an open 4x4. The smaller vehicle offers a different perspective of the scenery and animals around you. 
  • Enjoy a cultural evening with a delicious traditional dinner and local dance performance with the local community.

Accommodation: Umbhaba Eco Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 6 Kruger National Park Area

  • Today is a day at leisure. Enjoy some free time or choose to do a half or full day safari drive.
  • Optional Activities: Kruger National Park Wildlife Safari Drive.

Accommodation: Umbhaba Eco Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 7 Kruger/Johannesburg

  • Depart Kruger for Johannesburg. En route visit Jane Goodall foundation's Chimp Eden to learn about conservation and meet some of the orphaned and rescued chimps.
  • Optional farewell dinner with the group.

Accommodation: Airport Game Lodge (or similar). Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 8 Johannesburg

  • Depart at any time.

Meals included: Breakfast
