Itinerary

Day 1 Porto

  • Start Porto; afternoon orientation tour and guided wine tasting at a port wine cellar.

Accommodation: Neya Hotels Porto (or similar)

Day 2 Porto - Furadouro - Ovar

  • Coastal ride to historic Ovar passing through pine forests and the lively seaside town of Furadouro. Ascent: 160m Total: 43km.

Accommodation: Aqua Hotel, Ovar. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 3 Ovar – Costa Nova - Mira

  • Cycle along the Aveiro lagoon to the São Jacinto nature reserve. After a ferry transfer continue to the pretty coastal town of Costa Nova and on to the seaside town of Mira. Ascent: 174m Total 57km.

Day 4 Mira - Figueira da Foz

  • Ride through one of the biggest dune systems in the area, covered in pine tree forest, followed by a steep climb up the beautiful Serra da Boa Viagem before reaching the lively town of Figueira da Foz. Ascent: 346m Total 60km.

Day 5 Figueira da Foz - São Pedro de Moel

  • Follow the Estrada Atlântica (Atlantic Road) on a cycleway through the remains of a vast pine forest, the Pinhal de Leiria (Leiria Pine Forest) then taking a coastal route to the picturesque town of São Pedro de Moel. Ascent: 456m Total 65km.

Day 6 São Pedro de Moel – Nazaré - Óbidos

  • Transfer or cycle (20km) to Nazaré, one of the most famous fishing towns in Portugal. After some free time, ride to the medieval fortified village of Óbidos, with its narrow streets lined with white-washed houses. Ascent: 500m Total 45km (65km)

Accommodation: The Literary Man, Obidos. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 7 Óbidos - Lisbon

  • Private transfer to Lisbon. Free day for individual sightseeing. You will be provided with plenty of tips, maps and directions to make the most of your time in Lisbon. An optional guided city tour can also be booked.

Accommodation: Marquês de Pombal or Olissippo Saldanha, Lisbon. Meals Included: Breakfast
