FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Football & fixture changes

Fixtures during the football season are always subject to change and can be amended throughout the season for two main reasons.

1) Broadcast Selections
2) Cup Competitions

With broadcast selections, games will generally (not always) be moved around that particular weekend. Most of the time they will be played between 12:30 on the Saturday to around 18:30 on the Sunday (16:30 KO) but in some cases, they can be picked to be shown on a Friday or Monday night.

Cup competitions can impact a fixture where it may be necessary to move fixtures so they are not within 48 hours of each other. For example, if your team or their opponent is due to play the Europa league on the Thursday before, this means their league game at the weekend will almost certainly not be played on the Saturday.

Furthermore, domestic competitions such as the EFL Cup Final and FA Cup Quarter & Semi Finals can be scheduled the same weekend as Premier League gameweeks meaning if your team or their opponent reach that stage, the game will be moved completely from the provisional weekend..

Dates that will affect Premier League games include: .

  • EPL Quarter Final 25 February 2024
  • FA Cup Quarter Final 16 March 2024
  • FA Cup Semi Final 20 April 2024

What happens if my fixture gets moved?

Technically what you and we buy is the fixture and not the date. So if a match is changed or postponed, your tickets will still be valid for when the date is re-scheduled. We can then also re-schedule your night(s) of accommodation if required.

Can I change game or get a refund?

Unfortunately not, because we are not offered that option ourselves. We cannot offer a change, refund or credit if your fixture changes. Name changes are possible if you cannot attend however.

What should I do about booking Travel?

We advise not to book flights until the TV Selections are done for that weekend. While we understand this isn’t always possible to hold off, if you do want to book early, we strongly advise on you book early on a Saturday and late on a Sunday. While this will not fully guarantee you are covered, from history, it will cover you most of the time.

When will I know if my game is confirmed?

Generally, TV scheduling is done approx. 6 weeks before each game. If your game falls on a gameweek that can clash with a cup competition, it can be later than that.

How will I know if a game changes?

Abbey Travel will advise all our customers by email if a game is re-scheduled. While we will send out an email once we know and send a follow up email shortly after. We unfortunately cannot account for these emails going into spam so would always recommend keeping an eye on the current fixture list yourself; https://www.premierleague.com/fixtures

What happens if a game is cancelled?

If a game is cancelled, we can offer full credit to re-schedule to a different game of your choosing.
