Things to do in Santorini

Things to do in Santorini

Santorini is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to! The scenery, the food, the wine, there is so much to love about this Greek Island. I recently spent 8 nights in the main town, Fira. I would recommend this area as there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops dotted around.

Location

I was lucky enough to stay in the luxurious 4* Aressana Spa Hotel & Suites. The staff went above and beyond for the guests, I felt like royalty! The rooms are beautiful, and the spa is a heaven on earth. I didn’t want to leave this paradise.

What I Loved

My favourite memory from this Santorini holiday must be the Catamaran Sunset Cruise Tour.  This excursion departs from Oia, visits Red Beach, White Beach and you even get the chance to swim in volcanic hot springs. It was absolute bliss!

Activities and Places to See

  • Watch the sunset in Oia. I can’t think of a more romantic backdrop.
  • Spend a day on Perissa Beach, a unique black sand beach boasting crystalline waters.
  • Visit the Santos Winery and enjoy a wine tasting tour while watching the sunset.

Food & Bars

I loved every meal I had in Fira! Greek cuisine is one of my favourites. From Moussaka and Gyros to Taramasalata and Souvlaki, there is so much to enjoy.

Beaches

Santorini is not known for its white sandy beaches as it is a volcanic island. However, there are still many unique beaches that can be enjoyed! As mentioned already, the Catamaran Sunset Cruise Tour stops off at the Red Beach. This is one of the islands most unique and popular beaches. It is enclosed by steep red hills, so the temperature can get quite hot. The interesting rock formations and rich marine life make it the perfect place to go snorkelling.

Nobody could possibly regret a Santorini holiday! The island is breathtakingly beautiful, food is delicious, and the weather was perfect while I was there in June. The west coast is home to the iconic coastline, a lot of tourists opt to stay on this side of the island, I certainly loved it. Despite what many think a Santorini holiday doesn’t have to break the bank. We can tailor make the perfect getaway to suit you.
