Carl's Trip to Bordeaux
By Carl lonergan
Location
Nestled along Lacanau's stunning coastline, Les Grand Pins by Yelloh Village became the backdrop for our family's latest getaway. Just an hour's drive from Bordeaux, this charming haven offered a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and endless opportunities for family fun. Our cozy cottage, surrounded by tall pines, provided a rustic yet modern sanctuary for days filled with exploration in this exciting family camping adventure.
What I Loved
The real magic of Les Grand Pins lay in its outdoor offerings. The pristine beaches of Lacanau beckoned, and we eagerly answered the call. Endless stretches of golden sand, magnificent dunes and rolling waves invited us for hours of laughter, sandcastle building, surfing and body boarding.
Activities & Places to See
- The other main selling point, certainly for the kids, was the large pool complex, complete with water slides, a lazy river and a toddlers water park. The kids had an absolute blast and made loads of friends immediately which took the pressure off us to keep them entertained all day.
Shopping
Bordeaux offers a delightful shopping experience with its diverse range of boutiques, high-end fashion stores, and charming local markets. From the upscale boutiques along Rue Sainte-Catherine to the vibrant markets like Marché des Capucins, shoppers can explore a variety of options in this picturesque French city.
Food & Bars
The village has everything from fine dining options to pizza and burgers and there is a real surfing culture here so the town is young and vibrant and constantly buzzing. There are plenty of dining options on site plus a large sports bar and a supermarket for days or evenings when you just wanted to relax in your cabin and cook a simple meal.
