Ita's Trip to Harry Potter World
By Ita Comer
Location
We stayed in the Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead, which was only a 15 minute drive from Harry Potter World. We visited St. Albans on Thursday for a look around the shops and dinner, and then booked Harry Potter World for Friday and spent the whole day there. We flew from Dublin to Luton with Ryanair.
What I Loved
The whole experience was incredible! Harry Potter World was magical, whether you are a fan or not. It's a very enjoyable experience with lots to see and do for fans.
Activities & Places to See
- Walk through iconic sets such as the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, the Gryffindor Common Room, and Hagrid's Hut. The studio tour provides an immersive experience, allowing you to step into the magical world created for the films.
- Pose with the luggage trolley disappearing through the platform wall at Platform 9¾ before boarding the Hogwarts Express.
- Marvel at the intricate costumes worn by your favorite characters, and get up close to the various magical props used in the movies. The attention to detail in the design is truly remarkable.
- If you have time, visit St Albans, a very nice upmarket English town which has really lovely shops, beautiful restaurants and cool bars with great outdoor seating areas.
Shopping
Harry Potter World has a large gift shop where you can purchase a variety of Harry Potter merchandise, including wands, clothing, and souvenirs.
Food & Bars
In St Albans, we ate in a gorgeous Italian called Zizzi where we enjoyed a fabulous atmosphere and delicious pizza. The food at the hotel was very nice and the kids ate for free which was great.
