Ann Maries Trip To Disneyland Paris

Last year I travelled with my boyfriend to Disneyland Paris, where we spent 4 days exploring the park. We flew direct with Air France from Dublin to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. From Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport we took a taxi to Disneyland Park, which took approximately 40 minutes.

Location

Disneyland Paris is a magical and unique place with with an amazing vibe all year round. With its incredible Sleeping Beauty Castle, attractions, shows and parades and international cuisine restaurants, everybody can enjoy Disneyland Paris! We stayed at the 4 star Newport Bay Hotel, which is just a 15 minute walk from the park and 8 minutes away by free shuttle. The hotel is decorated in a 1900s coastal mansion style. The rooms are nautical-themed with Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie adorning lots of aspects of the hotel. The hotel offers heated indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant, a relaxing steam sauna and a full-service gym.

What I Loved

I loved everything about this trip; all the attractions were amazing and I loved looking through the shops at all the Disney trinkets and souvenirs. I especially loved the Princess Breakfast at Auberge de Cendrillon, as this was a really fun and unique experience. I also loved seeing Buffalo Bill and the Frozen shows.

Activities & Places to See

  • Fall in love with the fabulous Sleeping Beauty Castle' it's the first thing you'll see when you enter Disneyland!
  • Meet and take a photo with your favourite Disney characters.
  • Experience the chills and thrills that Disneyland has to offer with the various attractions in the park, including rollercoasters, haunted houses, the Indiana Jones Adventure, Star Wars attractions, Avengers amusements and much more.
  • Discover the Studio Tram Tour which gives a behind-the-scenes look at some of Disney's most iconic movies and see full-scale movie sets, special effects and props.
  • Watch as Disney characters parade through Disneyland during the Disney Parade.
  • Watch the Fireworks Illuminations at the end of the day, an incredibly spectacular show that is sure to amaze onlookers.

Shopping

There are a variety of shops at Disneyland Paris which sell all types of products - there's so much choice that you'll probably want it all! The products on offer include clothes, teddy bears, accessories, mugs, and souvenirs. During holidays like Halloween and Christmas there are special commemorative items sold too. Finding something unique to take home as a memento of your Disneyland holiday will be very easy! Do not miss La Boutique du Château and Merlin l’Enchanteur, the shop inside Sleeping Beauty’s castle, which have amazing medieval decorations and various gifts like housewares, arts, Disney Swarovski crystal items, artisan glassware, and jewellery.

Food & Bars

There's a diverse selection of dining options at Disneyland, including fast food, buffets and places to enjoy a sit-down meal. We had dinner in Bistrot Chez Rémy and the enchantment Auberge de Cendrillon, where we enjoyed delicious French cuisine in royally-themed surroundings. Captain Jack’s Restaurant des Pirates was great too. Here, they serve a menu of consisting of exotic seafood dishes and Creole cooking. This restaurant is decorated like a tavern on the shores of a torch-lit lagoon. We also dined at Planet Hollywood, where we saw authentic costumes and props from movies like Aliens, King Kong and of course Disney characters! They serve a mixture of international and American cuisine here. We also tried the amazing Plaza Gardens Restaurant, which is decorated in a Victorian style with a beautiful pavilion and serves tasty international cuisine.
