I decided to jet off to the Costa del Sol recently for a much needed break away in the sun. As I visited outside of the peak Summer months, the resorts were much quieter and flights & accommodation were cheaper. I really enjoyed my Spanish getaway, and would definitely go again.


Location

The Costa del Sol is a popular coastal region located in the southern part of Spain, known for its beautiful beaches, charming towns, and vibrant culture. Torremolinos is one of the towns situated along the Costa del Sol, and is hugely popular amongst Irish holiday makers thanks to its gorgeous Mediterranean climate, lively atmosphere & range of amenities catering to tourists.

What I Loved

I loved having some time away to relax & enjoy myself outside of the peak Summer months. 

Activities & Places to See

  • Malaga city is definitely worth a visit, as it has lots of shops & markets where you can buy Spanish food & wines.
  • Wander through the charming old town, with its narrow streets filled with shops, cafes, and traditional Andalusian architecture.
  • Torremolinos boasts several gorgeous beaches with golden sands and clear waters, such as Playa de la Carihuela and Playa El Bajondillo.

Shopping

Torremolinos offers a range of shopping opportunities, from local markets to international brand stores. Calle San Miguel is a bustling shopping street with a mix of shops and boutiques.

Food & Bars

Torremolinos offers a diverse culinary scene with a focus on fresh seafood. Enjoy traditional Spanish dishes, tapas, and international cuisine at the numerous restaurants and beachfront chiringuitos. There are also numerous bars, clubs, and discos, including Plaza Costa del Sol and Calle San Miguel, which are popular areas for those seeking entertainment after sunset.
