Irene's Trip to Lisbon

This year my family and I travelled to Lisbon and spent 6 days enjoying a lovely holiday. We flew directly with TAP from Dublin to Lisbon and from the airport we rented a car which took about 20 minutes to get us to our hotel.
Location
Lisbon is a trendy, fascinating and varied city which combines the best aspects of a city break, beach holiday and cultural trip. It is situated along the northern bank of the Tagus River, near its estuary on the Atlantic Ocean. Characterised by its hilly landscape, historic neighborhoods, and a combination of ancient and modern architecture, Lisbon is the political and economic center of Portugal and has grown to become a popular tourist destination.
What I Loved
I loved absolutely everything about my City Break in Lisbon! It's a vibrant city with sea, sun, good food and fascinating monuments so there is something to do at any time of the day.
Activities & Places to See
- Walk through the streets of Chiado and find Pink Street – one of Lisbon’s top Instagram locations.
- Explore Jeronimos Monastery and admire the gothic architecture & art style on display.
- Stroll around & take in the sights in Lisbon's Old Town.
Shopping
Baixa Pombalina is the traditional shopping area but there are beautiful boutiques everywhere where you can find clothing items house decor.
Food & Bars
Lisbon is full of delicious restaurants; just explore the city and choose the one that most takes your fancy. Make sure you try Pasteis de Belem, Portugal's famous sweet dish, and the bacalao (salt cod)! For a wide range of food options, visit Mercado da Ribeira.
