Lauren's Trip to Lanzarote

Lauren Lanzarote Macro

My family and I spent a week in Lanzarote, enjoying some autumn sun.

Location

We stayed in Villa Jessica in Puerto Del Carmen. Absolutely stunning Villa just a 5 minute walk from an avenue of Restaurants and Bars and also the main beach, Playa Grande. Choosing a Villa over a hotel or apartments means you have your own private pool and no race in the morning to get a sun lounger. You can go at your own pace.

What I Loved

The weather was fantastic, soaking up the sun during the day and enjoying breathtaking sunsets in the evening. I also appreciate how affordable it is; it's delightful to dine out every night without breaking the bank.

Activities & Places to See

  • As a young family we thought it would be a good idea to visit a Water Park, so we went to Aqualava water park.
  • Rancho Texas is another one for the family, and it includes shows with Dolphins and Sealions which is great entertainment for the little ones. Plenty of photo opportunities.

Shopping

In the old town, there's a shopping mall with everything you can think of, including Zara and Topshop. On the rooftop, there's an open-air cinema and a mini-golf track, adding extra fun for families. For nightlife, Route 66 is a good bar, especially if you're a fan of 80s/90s music.

Food & Bars

Puerto del Carmen is filled with restaurants and bars, offering a wide variety to choose from. We particularly enjoyed Mumbai Masala, an Indian restaurant on the main strip, offering the nicest Indian food we've ever had. Many restaurants are outdoors, and it can get a bit breezy in the evenings, so bringing a jacket or cardigan is advisable. I recommend dining early, as restaurants tend to get quite busy after 7 pm.
